A battle-hardened commando-turned inspirational TV personality, expeditioner and campaigner, Jason Fox is one of the country’s best-known military veterans.
After joining the Royal Marines Commandos aged 16 and serving for ten years, Jason – known as Foxy – passed the gruelling selection process for the Special Forces. Training as a combat swimmer, demolitions expert, Special Forces dog handler and jungle survival expert, he served with the Special Boat Service for a further decade. As a Sergeant in the SBS, he planned and led operations including hostage rescue, counter terrorism, counter insurgency, maritime counter terrorism, surveillance, body guarding and counter narcotic missions.
On leaving the Special Forces in 2012, Foxy worked briefly in the corporate world before moving into television in support of production crews who were working in environmentally hostile areas, such as the jungle, the arctic or the desert. It was during this period that Foxy was one of the divers that found the lost treasure of Captain Kidd – one of the most prolific pirates of the 17th century – just off the coast of Madagascar.
In 2015, the opportunity arose for Foxy to join the team behind Channel 4’s hit TV show SAS: Who Dares Wins, both in front of the camera, as one of the show’s notorious Directing Staff, and behind it, helping to design the gruelling course for the civilian recruits.
Foxy is heavily invested in charity initiatives. A double world record holder, Foxy was one of a team of five that completed the first rowing crossing of the Atlantic, from mainland Europe to South America, raising money for the NSPCC. He is also a Co-founder and Director of Rock 2 Recovery (R2R), which has a vision to preserve lives of distressed servicemen, veterans and their families by connecting them to appropriate mental health professionals for emergency and routine help.
Working closely with Ollie Ollerton, co-star of SAS: Who Dares Wins, Jason arranges highly-pressurised team building exercises for the corporate world, and Battle Ready 360, set up alongside Ollie, is a revolutionary health and wellness app designed to bring an elite training and military mindset to more people, to help them be the best version of themselves.
Battle Ready 360 is built around the belief that adopting the right mindset is the first step in embarking on personal growth, allowing people to be the best version of themselves. It comes from Ollie and Foxy’s almost 40 combined years of military service, including 16 years in the Special Boat Service, and the tools and empowerment techniques developed through these years of experience.
